The cooperative program in Accounting jointly offered by Dongbei University of Finance & Economics (DUFE) and Curtin University (Curtin), Australia was launched in 2002.The program got approval from the Education Department of Liaoning Province in 2003 and was reviewed by the Ministry of Education in 2007, being granted a certificate for Chinese-foreign cooperation in education. The program was appraised as a pilot Chinese-foreign educational cooperation program in 2009 and became the first undergraduate education program to be awarded a quality certificate for Chinese-foreign educational cooperation from the China Education Association for International Exchange.

The program aims to produce graduates with academic knowledge of their subject area, intercultural communication skills and international vision so as to meet the increasing demand of the Chinese job market for graduates with an international education background. By the end of 2016, there were 344 students who graduated from the program.
