In 2002, Dongbei University of Finance & Economics (DUFE) reached an agreement with the King’s University College (KUC) at Western University (UWO) in Canada on jointly offering a 4-year undergraduate program in Economics. The program was reviewed by the Ministry of Education of P.R.C in 2009 and granted the Certificate of Approval in 2011.
The program aims to produce graduates with academic knowledge of their subject area, intercultural communication skills and international vision so as to meet the increasing demand of the Chinese job market for graduates with international education background. By the end of 2016, there were 83 students who graduated from the program.

The program length is 4 years. Students in the program can either choose a single-degree path or double-degree path. For those who chose the double-degree path will be awarded both the Bachelor’s degree in Economics and graduation certificate by DUFE and an Honor Bachelor’s Degree in Economics by UWO after finishing all credits required by both universities.
The first two years curriculums for the single-degree path and double-degree path are the same.
